... That gorgeous central Andante is both fragrant and involving, Bacchetti not giving in to needless rubato but delivering on Mozart's aria-like melodic lines. This is a touch more aristocratic than Bacchetti's expressive but more confiding and introverted touch in his earlier recording, but this can also be ascribed to projecting into a large auditorium when compared to a studio recording. The final Allegretto is jaunty and energetic without being wild, Bacchetti and Fabio Luisi always keeping their Mozartean cool without missing the composer's little index-finger marking points of cleverness and wit. ...

This recording of the piano concertos KV 271 & 414 should not be missing in any Mozart collection. Andrea Bacchetti certainly does not reinvent the wheel, but there are very few artists on CD (Anda, Barenboim) who strike the youthful tone of the music as clearly and pointedly as the Italian pianist.Bacchetti fascinates with a firework of musical ideas, with a lot of enthusiasm, pianistic ability and interpretative consistency. His Mozart is fresh, carefree and at the same time beautiful and heartfelt: Bacchetti proves in every moment that he is not only a gifted Bach interpreter, but has the same inspired and inspiring flair for Mozart's music. At the conductor's podium there is a real partner: Fabio Luisi shares the fresh-dynamic concept of the soloist and transfers it to the orchestra. Lo and behold, Genoa's "Teatro Carlo Felice Orchestra" comes out of the shadows of the many bad Italian orchestras and shows itself to be a very precise and committed collective. The live character with all its vivacity and genius of the moment lets the listener participate in an absolutely lively performance, so that one likes to overlook the certainly not really good recording quality.
Andrea Bacchetti's Mozart is fresh and lively, beautifully shaped and sensitive at the same time. The Italian pianist obviously has the same fine sense for Mozart as for Bach. He is very well supported by Fabio Luisi and the Committed Orchestra of the Teatro Carlo Felice.
