Monograph: Andrea Bacchetti
Classica presents in preview an emerging young Italian pianist: Bachian by vocation, Bacchetti impresses
with the clear intricacy of counterpoint that unfolds into a delicate sound, at times airy and dreamlike.
His Goldberg Variations create enchantment, patiently building one piece at a time, resulting in a personal
and vibrant profile.
The mysticism of the slow variations meets the brightness of the lively ones.
Reflective and precise, Bacchetti surprises with a virtuosic ornamentation that is never pedantic
and authentically Baroque.
A must-discover!

Sacred music: Verdi - Requiem
The most human, secular, and terrifying of all Requiems.
The "peasant" Giuseppe Verdi personally conducted the first performance on May 22, 1874,
to celebrate the first anniversary of Alessandro Manzoni's death. In the Milanese church of San Marco,
the furious phrases of the Dies Irae echoed, appearing no less than four times as a unifying element,
alongside the touching accents of the Libera me, a reworking of the piece he wrote to commemorate Rossini.
ZUBIN MEHTA confirms his role as a clear-headed and anti-rhetorical conductor at the helm of the
Orchestra of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino.
Not to be missed!
